Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
One child was strapped onto my back, while one crawled inside the playground. I worked 12 hour days for months sanding and stripping wallpaper while carrying one kid. Ha! It was all falling in place, yet it was not quite done. It would take an enormous amount of work and an enthusiasm to shop. In order to stay in my budget I took my kids along with me as I searched for treasures in estate sales. We would go from the week of Thursday through Saturday at garage sales and estate sales, buying old and new furniture. Then I painted and sanded the driveway in the week. It was a bit like this... That's the time my love of the restoration of furniture first began. Even after our house was fully furnished, I could not put it down! There was a place on the market in town where I would sell my pieces. Then I bought more that I knew about and had outgrown the space. Over 1000 people visited my house in one weekend to buy everything on the ground floor. Growing Days was created in the home. When my business grew as did our family. I was finding that balance of having starting a business and be a mommy too. Growing Days just fit. In 2013, my daughter Nora was our fourth baby. Though I was content with the direction that my business took, I felt like I needed to take a little break. I decided to quit doing work on my furniture for a few months and spend time with my children. The time was right. After a few minutes, my phone began getting busy. People contacted me asking to help them with interior decor and home renovations. A majority of these were people who had been through my property during open house for furniture! In the course of my work I began adding clients to my list in a series of. It wasn't too long before I had many clients and operated an extremely successful business of home renovation. Had you told me my venture would end up being the premise for a DIY Network show, I likely would have laughed. When I look at it, it has made me smile.
